PicturePacks Major Features / Frequently Asked Questions |
● Low cost. Each Collection contains many component PicturePacks, and covers a broad range of topics in hundreds of web pages with images and articles - yet PicturePack Collections are inexpensively priced. ● Installation requirements. No installation required. If you have Windows, a web browser, and a CD-ROM drive, you can use a PicturePack. Created in html (web-based) format, PicturePacks run in your own Windows web browser (Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator), so the PicturePack "look and feel" is friendly and familiar. ● Opening your PicturePack. Locate the folder containing the PicturePack you want to explore (use Windows Explorer or My Computer to locate the folder). In the folder, locate the file named index.html (or any other file ending in .html) and double-click. The file will open in your browser. Your PicturePack is ready for use. ● PicturePacks may be used as you wish in one classroom. Images provided in PicturePacks are intended for home, student and single-classroom use. Images may not be sold or incorporated in any product for resale. Images may be used on one computer, or in one classroom in a school building, or placed on a server within a single classroom and serving only that one classroom. Images may not be transmitted on the internet or placed on a server serving more than one classroom without written authorization from IRC. ● Using images and articles in web sites. Images and articles may be used on the Internet (in web sites) by contacting us and obtaining permission. We want to work with you, and we grant permissions so long as certain conditions are met. One important condition is that the web pages cannot be accessed by the general public. Usually this means that we allow use for instructors who have course pages online, so long as those pages can only be accessed by students with a password. Email us at ircemail@aol.com with your request. ● Networking/site licenses. Because PicturePacks are web-based, they are completely and easily networkable. Site licenses are available for school-wide use and district-wide use. We will work with you. Please email us at ircemail@aol.com or call us toll-free at 800.922.1711. ●
